This image communicates visually because of the use of color and shapes. In Molly Bangs book, Picture This, she describes how the use of color and shapes depict different purposes such as a feeling of fear and hopelessness or any other emotion. The action words are in a dark red demonstrating the danger going on in the picture. In this image the various yellow spikes in the background portray action and fear. Bang writes, "...sense of depth is accomplished..." this relates to the image because all of these yellow spikes show how Superman and Doomsday are in a hectic situation during battle. This image makes a visual argument by not showing more power to one character himself. Doomsday and Superman both indicate equal strength and power in this image. Both characters are being hit equally and making similar movement.
