Flash vs Reverse Flash

Hello readers, for this post we are going to analyze the relationship between Flash and Reverse Flash by just looking at this image. The reason I have chosen this image because it perfectly conveys the relationship that these two characters have. Just by analyzing the image we find that it is riddled with diagonal lines, which according to "Picture This" by Molly Bang, show movement. We can then assume that there is tons of movement in this image. Furthermore, we can see that both characters are fighting for the center of the space suggesting they both want the full attention on them. If we analyze closely we can see that in this particular panel, Reverse Flash is slightly more central suggesting he has control. Next we analyze the color scheme and we notice that the characters are wearing exact mirrors of each other. This is critical when looking at the relationship these characters have. It suggests that the Reverse Flash is the exact opposite of Flash and will do anything to make Flash's life worse. However if we look at Flash, we see from his facial expression that he is almost sad that he has to fight this enemy. Possibly he is guilty and feels that he let Eobard Thawne down and pushed him to the path he runs now. This just proves that the complex relationships that villains have with there heroes can even be found in a single image or encounter, and each one completely different than the last.
